PRC-Saltillo is a company that specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, and I had the pleasure of contributing to the development of their TouchChat app.

TouchChat is a powerful and intuitive iOS app that empowers individuals with speech and language disabilities to communicate effectively. It features a customizable interface with a range of grid sizes, layouts, and colors, enabling users to personalize their communication experience. The app also comes with a robust set of preloaded vocabularies, including symbol-based and text-based options, to help users get started quickly.

As an iOS developer for PRC-Saltillo, I played a key role in enhancing the user experience of TouchChat. One of the features that I worked on was the integration of head and eye tracking technology, which allows users to control the app using their head or eye movements. This feature provides an additional input method for individuals with limited mobility or dexterity, making it easier for them to use the app.

In addition to the head and eye tracking feature, I leveraged the latest iOS technologies to deliver a seamless experience, including support for various input methods, such as touch, switch, and scanning. I also integrated the app with Apple's built-in accessibility features, such as VoiceOver and Switch Control, to ensure a more inclusive experience.

Working on TouchChat was a rewarding experience for me, as I knew the app was making a tangible difference in people's lives. The app's positive impact on individuals with communication challenges was a constant source of motivation for me.
