Prior to joining August Home, a library had been build to facilitate connections between their existing mobile application and their WatchOS extension. This effort became the foundation for the iOS SDK project.
I entered August Home in 2021 with a single goal; to bring the product up to what the market expected of it. A number of 3rd parties were interested in adding support for operating, configuring, and monitoring August Smart Locks via Bluetooth, which, prior to an official SDK release, was only possible via the Web API using a Bluetooth Bridge.
